The challenge
Before installation, technicians and partners define how each meter transmits its data. Every setting affects battery life, and a wrong value ends up on a device in the field.
The first version had grown into one component of more than 1,000 lines, with bugs in the battery calculation, status decoding and import and export. Adding new meter types was slow and risky.
What we built
Version 2 of the configurator: forms that adapt to each meter and module type, a live battery-life estimate, and an encrypted configuration file that is then written to the device.

The result

The manufacturer's team takes over a tested, documented codebase that is ready for new product types.
How we built it
Angular 19 with standalone components, TypeScript and RxJS. The old monolith was split into focused services for forms, validation, product types and encryption, so the domain logic can be tested and extended.
End-to-end tests with Cypress and Allure reports, and complete technical documentation in German for the handover.
